Procedures & Requirements
Upon completion of Phase I requirements, subsequent review and acceptance, the candidate will qualify to receive:
A Certified Temperament Counselor certificate and
A Clinical Member (non-clergy) or Professional Clinical Member (clergy) certificate, membership card and lapel pin.
Upon completion of Phase II requirements, subsequent review and acceptance, the candidate will qualify to receive:
Certified Pastoral Counselor (high-school diploma, GED or Associates)
Licensed Pastoral Counselor (holds a Bachelors)
Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor (holds a Masters)
Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor-Advanced Certified (holds a Doctorate)
Certified Temperament Pastoral Counselor (Optional) (additional fee
applies)
Available also if the laws of your state prohibit the use of term pastoral license.
Phase 1
A minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent is required
Each candidate must complete the following 5 courses:
Basic Christian Counseling
Temperament Theory
Testing/Measurements
Temperament Therapy
Christian Counseling: Integrating Temperament and Psychology
There are additional requirements, which will include a Practicum Phase.
Phase 2
Each candidate must complete the following 3 courses:
Mastering Pastoral Counseling Utilizing Temperament
Temperament Case Studies
Counseling the Codependent
There are additional requirements, which will include a Practicum Phase.
Program 1
NCCA Christian Counseling Certification
Program One provides NCCA certification as a Christian Counselor. This program is designed for ministers and other ordained clergy who primarily need training and an NCCA certification without additional degrees. This program is also popular with counselors who already have their Christian counseling degrees or other psychology, social work and mental health degrees. No new Christian counseling degree is conferred.
Completion of Program 1 provides the following designations:
Certified Pastoral Counselor for individual without a degree.
Christian / Pastoral Counselor for those who hold a Bachelors Degree
Clinical Christian / Pastoral Counselor for those holding a Master’s degree
Clinical Christian / Pastoral Counselor – Advanced Certification – for those holding a Doctorate
Program 2 – Combined License & B.A.
Mature Christians who have graduated from high school or hold a G.E.D. may elect to complete the requirements for license and qualify for a B.A. in Christian Counseling.
Procedures & Requirements
A student can qualify for a License and B.A. in Christian Counseling by completing Three Phases of training.
Upon completion of Phase I requirements, subsequent review and acceptance, the candidate will qualify to receive:
A Certified Temperament Counselor certificate and
A Clinical Member (non-clergy) or Professional Clinical Member (clergy) certificate, membership card and lapel pin.
Upon completion of Phase II requirements, subsequent review and acceptance, the candidate will qualify to receive:

The Appropriate Advanced Certification certificates for selectedspecialty areas completed and A Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Counseling
Phase 1

Phase 3
Each student must select and complete six (6) advanced courses. A complete list will be provided to the student to choose from.
Upon completion of the required courses, the student must submit written responses to a 500 Question Open Book Equivalency Exam on the Bible (Old and New Testament — KJV). (may be waived depending upon the educational level and training of the student upon enrollment).
Program 1
Combined NCCA Licensed Christian Counseling & B.A. Program
This program is for those who already hold a High School diploma and are experienced Christians. Most candidates complete this process in one to two years, although it has been accomplished in less time.
Program 3 – Combined License & M.A.
Individuals who already hold a Bachelors Degree in counseling or a related/accepted field may elect to complete the requirements for license and qualify for an M.A. in Clinical Christian Counseling

Phase 1

Phase 3
Each student must select and complete six (4) advanced courses. A complete list will be provided to the student to choose from.
Upon completion of the required courses, the student must submit the following:
One copy of a written Thesis. This shall consist of 25 individual reports (case studies) developed from the candidates work with 25 individuals using the APS reports. A format is provided in the course entitled “Temperament Case Studies.” The Thesis has a 100 page minimum.
Program 1

Individuals who already hold a Bachelor’s degree in counseling or a related/accepted field may elect to complete the requirements for license and qualify for an M.A. in Clinical Christian Counseling.
Program 4 – Combined License & Doctorate
Individuals who already hold a Masters degree in counseling or a related/ accepted field may elect to complete the requirements for license and qualify for a Doctoral degree in Clinical Christian Counseling.

A student can qualify for a License and a Doctorate in Clinical Christian Counseling by completing Three Phases of training.

Upon completion of the required courses, submit the following:
One copy of a written dissertation. This normally consists of 35 (25 generated for license practicum plus 10 additional) individual reports (case studies) developed from the candidate’s work with 35 individuals using the A.P.S. reports. A format is provided in the course entitled “Temperament Case Studies.” The dissertation has a 140 page minimum.
Program 1
Combined NCCA Clinical Christian Counseling License & Doctorate Program
This program is for those who already hold a Master’s Degree. This program typically takes 1 to 2 years to complete
Program 5 – Combined License and 2nd Doctorate
Individuals who already hold an earned Doctorate degree in counseling or a related/accepted field may elect to complete the requirements for license and qualify for a second Doctorate in Clinical Christian Counseling.
Procedures & Requirements
A student can qualify for a License and 2nd Doctorate in Clinical Christian Counseling by completing Three Phases of training.
Upon completion of Phase I requirements, subsequent review and acceptance, the candidate will qualify to receive:
A Certified Temperament Counselor certificate and
A Clinical Member (non-clergy) or Professional Clinical Member (clergy) certificate, membership card and lapel pin.
Upon completion of Phase II requirements, subsequent review and acceptance, the candidate will qualify to receive:
Certified Pastoral Counselor (high-school diploma, GED or Associates)
Licensed Pastoral Counselor (holds a Bachelors)
