• Program 5 – Combined License & 2nd Doctorate

  • Procedures & Requirements

    A student can qualify for a License and 2nd Doctorate in Clinical Christian Counseling by completing Three Phases of training.

    Upon completion of Phase I requirements, subsequent review and acceptance, the candidate will qualify to receive:

    • A Certified Temperament Counselor certificate and
    • A Clinical Member (non-clergy) or Professional Clinical Member (clergy) certificate, membership card and lapel pin.

    Upon completion of Phase II requirements, subsequent review and acceptance, the candidate will qualify to receive:

    • Certified Pastoral Counselor (high-school diploma, GED or Associates)
    • Licensed Pastoral Counselor (holds a Bachelors)
    • Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor (holds a Masters)
    • Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor-Advanced Certified (holds a Doctorate)
    • Certified Temperament Pastoral Counselor (Optional) (additional fee applies)

    Available also if the laws of your state prohibit the use of term pastoral license.

    After successfully completing all of the requirements for Phase III, the candidate will (assuming everything is in order) receive:

    • A License in Clinical Pastoral Counseling — Advanced Certified certificate, card
    • The Appropriate Advanced Certification certificate for selected specialty areas completed and
    • A Doctoral degree in Clinical Christian Counseling (note-Additional documentation may be required depending on school selected)
  • Phase 1

    A minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent is required

    Each candidate must complete the following 5 courses:

    • Basic Christian Counseling
    • Temperament Theory
    • Testing/Measurements
    • Temperament Therapy
    • Christian Counseling: Integrating Temperament and Psychology

    There are additional requirements, which will include a Practicum Phase.

    Phase 2

    Each candidate must complete the following 3 courses:

    • Mastering Pastoral Counseling Utilizing Temperament
    • Temperament Case Studies
    • Counseling the Codependent

    There are additional requirements which will include a practicum phase

    Phase 3

    Each candidate must select and complete four (4) advanced courses. No dissertation is required for candidates who already hold an earned doctorate.

  • Combined NCCA Clinical Christian Counseling License & 2nd Doctorate

    This program is for those who already hold a Doctor’s Degree in Counseling or a related field.  This program typically takes 1 to 2 years to complete, but it is self-paced and can be completed in up to to five years.  No dissertation is required for Program 5.
