• Why Christian Counseling?

  • In today’s world, people are searching for real solutions to the problems that they face. Many Christians have discovered that Christian counseling is much more consistent with their beliefs than secular counseling is. Christian counseling can provide real solutions to the problems we all face.

Christian counseling is a calling. Do you sense that calling in your life? Will you be there to provide help and godly encouragement?

We encourage Christian counselors to offer Biblical insight, to pray and to show true Christian compassion with those whom they counsel. As a Christian counselor we are not obliged to counsel in a way that suggests behavior that is inconsistent with the Word of God.

Christians representing a wide spectrum of backgrounds tend to gravitate towards NPCTC. The National Pastoral Counselors Training Center encourages Pastor’s, Church Leaders, Lay Counselors, and even those who work in the mental health profession to consider one of the programs we offer to further the ministry God has called them to.

Many state licensed “secular” counselors discover that they are ethically unable to serve both God and state. This is where becoming a Christian counselor is a viable option.

If you have been called into the Christian counseling ministry, you will find programs here at NPCTC that will lead to Certification, ecclesiastical Licensing {through the NCCA} and Degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate). You will also find dedicated and caring Christians that are eager to assist you in achieving your goals.

All of our programs are provided by the National Christian Counselors Association (NCCA). The programs are biblically based are focused on each individuals God-given temperament. This amazing and powerful model provides an accurate client assessment tool as well as the framework for creating effective treatment plans. In the hands of the trained Christian Pastoral Counselor, this model has seen excellent success rates over the years.

    Admission Requirements

Students come to us with a wide variety of educational backgrounds. The minimum educational requirement is a high school diploma.

If you are already college educated and are seeking a Christian Master's or Doctoral degree, you will find high quality educational materials as well as well-experienced practical supervision to guide you into becoming the professional that God has called you to be.

Many of our students come to us already holding valid ministerial credentials. However, if you do not, there is no need to worry. A ministerial credential is not required for admission. However, a Christian Ministerial Credential is required to complete any NCCA program. We are here to help you gain an appropriate credential if you need one. Regardless of your educational background, there is a program designed to meet your needs as a Christian counselor.

When can I enroll, and are the programs self-paced?

Our programs can best be described as “somewhat self-paced.” You can gain your education while seeing to the other demands in your life and ministry. Most students find the courses to be so engaging that they complete them in a remarkably short period of time. For a student seeking an advanced degree, the program can typically be completed in one to two years.

We follow an open admission and distance education model.
